The first and one of the most exciting events in the Track Field season is Relays. For U9 – U17 athletes, relays present a unique opportunity to compete as part of a team and have some fun with their athlete friendship group. At Ringwood, we encourage all athletes of all abilities to participiate in this exciting event.
To prepare for relays , Ringwood will have age group coaches and will provide several training sessions leading up to relay competitions days. These session are important for team development and to make sure athletes learn where they will be running and how to pass the baton.
It is important to note that as a team event, relays require committment from all involved. Relay teams cannot easily adapt to change should athletes choose to drop out and committment to the team, once given, must be followed through to the completion of relays.
Every athlete that nominates for Relays will be included in a relay team and given every opportunity to perform at their best.
If you are interested in being part of a Ringwood relay team, there will be an age group coaches\contact,once they are selected.
