Competition Week 7 our first of four twilights of the season and what a nice night it was. A massive 205 PBs were achieved and 5 centre records broken – 4 to Lachlan Buyck (U17B) for the Discus, Shot Put, 100 and 1500 and 1 to Emma Fabre (U17G) for Discus, well done athletes.
This Saturday is our Coles round where we pretty much dress up in crazy outfits and color (Red) to promote our major sponsor Coles. Please make sure you have your coles patch stitched into your Ringwood top. This Sunday, we have Box Hill relays, so for those athletes competing, you should be getting all the information you need from your relay age group manager, if not please email me. Timetables will be out shortly and I will publish that on our socials once released. I again encourage you to be focussing on relay training. See you at the track this Saturday and enjoy your Melbourne Cup holiday.
Box Hill relays are this Sunday and once timetables are out I will share them, but expect to be there most of the day. Parking is a challenge so allow plenty of time.
Saturday 18th November are Eastern Metro Region (EMR) relays at Yarra Ranges Athletic Centre (Mount Evelyn). Again, more information to come regarding the timetable.
New Competition Meet – Save the date
The Committee have decided after EMR relay day we want to run another competition day and try Sunday afternoon, November 19th from 2pm-5pm. Save the Date, more information to come.
As today is a public holiday and as we are at Box Hill Sunday, training is cancelled both days. Training will return Tuesday 14th November. Use this to focus on relay training. Middle distance training is scheduled Wednesday from 4:30.
Uniforms and Patches
All paid up athletes must now have their Centre top with the coles patch on the uniform and black shorts, preferably no logos. You can purchase a top at our uniform shop which is open competition days. Uniform adherence is very strict at EMR relays so make sure you have the right uniform.
Coles Community Round
This Saturday dress up in red to support our major sponsor Coles, make sure you can still participate in events!!
Volunteering – we need your help – Sign up here
Thanks to all parents that have helped our so far. Because of your help, we can get through our events quicker and the bbq keeps everyone fed! Duties roster is still to come for this week.
A reminder that parents need to make sure their athletes are adhering to the Little Athletics code of conduct they must follow. Athletes must at no time threaten other athletes or physically inflict pain to other athletes. This behaviour will not be tolerated and athletes will be asked to either not compete in an event, or in a worst case scenario, not be allowed to participate in competition. Please direct any concerns in behaviour to Belinda Jones is our current Child Safety Officer or myself.
