Hi everyone, what another great week of athletics. We are back to Saturday morning competition and the unsettled weather held off. 175 athletes achieved a whopping 271 PBs and another Centre record achieved by Emma Fabre (U17G) in Javelin.
We are now quickly approaching December and about half way through our summer Track and Field season already. There are two more Saturday competitions remaining and this Saturday we welcome our special guest Michael Sukkar, our local Member of Parliament. Our Christmas break up is scheduled on Wednesday 13th December and that will also include the Ringwood Gift, Raffle and a surprise visit from Santa. We will break from 13th December and return on 14th January.
Region and State Relay progression – reminder
Firstly, well done to all athletes that participated in relays, you should be proud of your efforts. We hope you enjoy your treats from Ringwood and Knox Roll’d. Thanks to Jarrod our U17G Age Group Manager for sharing those with our centre and make sure you use them by Dec 31st!
Athletes that have progressed to State relays have been advised and congratulations to all. We have finalised most teams and will confirm teams with those athletes shortly. More information on next steps will be emailed to you shortly. I would encourage the relay age group managers to keep those state relay teams practicing!!
School Sports Victoria – National Championships
We congratulate Reece Trewhella, Arianna Di Martino and Jacob Dixon who recently competed at School Sports Victoria National Championships in Tassie. You should all be very proud of your achievements.

Reminder – Ringwood 100m Gift and Christmas event – Wednesday Dec 13th Twilight
What is the Ringwood 100m Gift? The Ringwood 100m Gift is a fun event, where each athlete is given a mark, or handicap, based on their ability. This gives them an equal opportunity to win the 100m, when they normally would not. There are a number of heats and eventually a final for Boys and Girls and at the conclusion we announce a boy and girl winner who will receive a special sash.
As part of our Christmas celebration, the Gift will be our special event followed up with a Christmas raffle and a visit from Santa.
Reminder that event training is scheduled for Tuesdays from 4:15pm and Sunday morning from 9am-10am.
Severe weather warning
The forecast for Saturday looks to be slightly wet, but always assume we will still run the competition. If the RLAC committee decide it is too dangerous, we will send a cancelled communication out via our socials. At this stage the morning is looking ok with a few light showers, not severe enough to cancel. As parents you can also decide yourself to not attend, if you don’t feel comfortable letting your athlete compete in wet conditions.
