Competition Week 5 and the results keep getting better. A massive 216 Personal Bests (PB’s) were achieved by our athletes, awesome effort so early on in the season. All that training and coaching is paying off, keep it up.
This week we are running Program C and again I having included practice time for relays to make sure you all run really well at the many relay events on offer and all included in your membership. Relays are lots of fun, with Box Hill as the teaser, quickly followed by Eastern Region Relays at Yarra Ranges and then State relays in December. Its going to be a busy few months leading into Christmas, so please make sure you are reading all the information. See you all at the track on Saturday for Week 6 of competition.
Relays are a great way to have some team fun with your athlete mates. Make sure you put your hand up to participate, they are lots of fun and we would love to see lots of Ringwood relay teams.
All EMR (region) relay teams must finalised no later than this Saturday, ready for entry Sunday. Those lists must be final, so make sure to get all your teams in. Box Hill relay entries are due no later than 4th-5th Nov.
Uniforms and Patches
All paid up athletes must wear their Ringwood Centre top and black shorts to Saturday competition. If you need a Ringwood top, the uniform shop will be open on Saturday in the pavilion for part of the morning. Also, black shorts or black leggings can be worn, preferably without any logos and don’t forget your CommBank and Coles patches. Uniforms are mandatory and will especially be required at Region and State events, so get into the habit now.
Athletes that require a re-print of their patch need to provide a gold coin donation that goes to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Competition day Volunteering – we need your help – Sign up here
Thanks to all parents that have helped our so far, because of your help, we get through events quicker and the bbq keeps everyone fed! Most of all, its fun. This week is hurdle week (again)so we definitely need our setup crew nice and early at the track. Give a duty a go, its fun and all simple and if you are not sure what to do, ask. We are all more than happy to help.
This season we have started monitoring duties to make sure its spread equally. If there are repeat “duty dodgers” we will start to allocate duties to you. My advice, sign up and have some fun!!

Do you want to know about our key competition days on our calendar, but also, other centre open days?
Check out our calendar on our website:
There is lots of other information on our website so have a look around.
Our first “twilight” competition is next Wed 1st Nov. Why do we do this? Next weekend is a long weekend, so for those that choose to getaway, we push our competition earlier in the week. We will start from about 5.30ish and hope to conclude no later than 8.30pm. We may adjust the program so the evening is not too late, but we will enjoy athletics under lights.
