What a great week 3 of competition. Birds were singing, sun was shining and athletes were competing. We are close to achieving 200 athletes at Ringwood which is a great milestone, I am going to say we have beaten the Covid beast.
Our first cycle of our new Program A,B,C method is completed and while there were some teething issues, we are adjusting to cater for the growth in numbers and based on your feedback, keep it coming. Our new website is the place to get updated information regarding training, upcoming Ringwood special events, news and browse through our results.
Our Ringwood Centre handbook for 2022-2023 is also available if you CLICK HERE.
I encourage you all to take a look at our calendar as there are some exciting events coming up – click on our CALENDAR page here.
If you haven’t already, get your athletes signed up for relay teams and training to start preparing for Box Hill Relays in November.
This is the precursor to Regional Relays on 3rd December, which will be hosted at our home, Ringwood. Relays are lots of fun and we want to see as many teams participate at Ringwood for EMR relays. Also, the Ringwood Combined events day is on the 5th November, where a preselected list of events is offered to all age groups. Points will be accumulated based on athlete performances and there will be a trophy for the male and female winner of each age group. For those athletes that complete all their events, they will receive a medal.
Final call to register for the LAVIC state combined events, with a number of age groups already at capacity. Please follow this link and make sure you register before 26th October.
Thank you to all our trial athletes who gave athletics a go. I hope that you enjoyed your experience and please register here and come back to Ringwood. Athletics is a great sport and its good fun and it will set your athlete up for other sports, for life.
Later in November we have our Coles Community round and our guest motivational speaker to “rev up” our athletes minds.
Finally, thanks to my committee and parent volunteers who have contributed so much to get us up and running so quickly and efficiently. Its all coming together and we are a great team.
Go Team Ringwood.
See you at the track!
