Hi everyone, another great week of competition with 158 PBs and another Centre Record – AWESOME! This week we are running Program C on Sunday 5th February from 1.30pm for our U11-U16 Jav throwers. All other events start at 2pm, with athlete warm up at 1.45.
We will have our canteen and BBQ available for those that want a late lunch or an early dinner. Please sign up – https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D45AEAE28A1FDC34-sunday1
Good luck to all athletes competing in State Relays this Saturday. If this is your first time at Lakeside, be inspired by the blue track. Brooke will be our team manager and reserve our normal spot in the southern grandstand, so lookout for our Ringwood team flags. EMR T&F at Doncaster is also coming up, so make sure you get in as much training as possible to improve your personal performance, its lots of fun. Say hello to athletes from other centres. See you at the track on Sunday.
Things to know – Information Hub
No training Sunday 5th Feb – As we have our competition this Sunday there is no morning training. Our coaches will be back next week.
Recording events – We are always happy when parents volunteer. If you have volunteered to record a result at an event, here are a few tips – Always take a role call and cross out athletes not in attendance. Make sure you check you are recording on the correct sheets for the correct event. Finally, please note your name, start time and end time of the event. This helps us with programming. Thanks again!!
Uniforms – I cant stress enough the importance of having the correct uniform at all times. Refer to the booklet on our website. Please ensure your Coles patch is present (we have lots in the pavilion), you have your CommBank patch on and you are wearing your club\centre top and black shorts (preferably no logos). As athletes will be attending state and regional events, any issues with uniforms are not tolerated at these events and your athlete will be disqualified. Save yourself and your athlete the trouble, make sure you have the correct uniform on at all times. Incorrect uniform = no recorded results.
EMR Track and Field (T&F) 18th\19th Feb – Tom Kelly Athletics Track Doncaster
Registrations for this fantastic event have closed and we have about 69 athletes entered, which is a great amount. Looking forward to seeing our athletes compete against other centres, while having fun.
Ringwood Centre Games 18th March 2023 8am-4pm – Save the date
Centre Games Championship is our last competition day. The format will remain the same as last year where athletes can select any number of events, depending on their age group. It usually runs longer than our normal competition day, so we ask that parents save the date now. Entry forms will be sent out shortly with qualifying rules. One main rule to be aware of now is “Athletes must have competed in a minimum 50% of available Centre competitions since registering and competed in a minimum 5 competitions prior to Centre Games Day.” There are only 5 weeks of competition left before Centre Games, make sure your athlete meets these criteria.
Hurdles Clinics – Feb 12th Sunday 9am
We have the pleasure of inviting our senior hurdles coach, Peter Benifer, to run two hurdles clinic sessions. Expressions of interest will be provided shortly for those athletes competing in hurdles at EMR T&F.
U6-U8 Clinics – Feb 12th Sunday 9am
U6-U8s will have the chance to improve their skills and techniques. We will send out expressions of interest to these athletes shortly.
