Coaching and Training

Coaching and Training

At RLAC, we believe that training is a complimentary part of being a little athlete.  By participating in our Training sessions, with our experienced coaches, we aim to provide athletes with the opportunity to learn, develop and ultimately improve their skills.  Training has many benefits such as increasing an athlete’s performance and self-confidence, creating a team based environment and over time, can develop an athletes discipline and self-motivation towards training and continual improvement, hopefully developing good habits for life.

Guiding principles

At RLAC, we adopt LAVic’s mission and adopt the Little Athletics Motto of “Family, Fitness and Fun”.

Little Athletics Mission:

  • To develop children of all abilities by promoting positive attitudes and a healthy lifestyle through family and community involvement in athletics activities.
  • Through the enjoyment of athletics develop positive attitudes and a healthy lifestyle for our children, families and community.

Coaching and Training must consider a number of key principles that facilitate the opportunity for children to compete, have a go and enjoy athletics, these are (not limited to):

  • Ensure that all children are safe;
  • Help all children improve;
  • Create a fun environment in which children will want to return.

RLAC coaches for our Track & Field season 2022-2023

Our coaching team at Ringwood has continued to build on the foundations created during last season and we have a new Senior coach, Deb Voogd.  Deb has been involved in athletics for a number of years and is keen to be involved in coaching little athletes.   Deb currently competes in the hammer, her specialty, but also has good “all round knowledge” of athletics.  (More info to come).

We are proud of our Ringwood senior and junior coaches and are very confident they will extend the continual growth and learning of our little athletes.
